As coronavirus causes unprecedented disruption on a global level, CSOs are being asked and from them it’s expected to respond quickly to protect their staff and partners, and adapt their programmes to support the communities they work in. A large number of funders are aware that during the crises the traditional institutional philanthropy practices should be changed. The article presents 4 ways funders are working on in order to better support NGOs. They are: standing in solidarity with civil society and collaborating; increasing flexibility in current grant agreements; providing access to emergency funds; supporting efforts to combat Covid-19.
