The EU is the main donor, investor and trade partner of the Western Balkans. Especially in this period of crises, the EU and the Western Balkans should work hand-in-hand, in solidarity, supporting each other. In response to that, the EU announced a package of bilateral financial assistance to all six partners in the region. The EU will provide up to 38 million EUR of immediate assistance to deal with the COVID–19 related emergency. In addition, the EU decided to support the region by reallocating 374 million EUR for the social and economic recovery of the region, once the emergency is over. The money will serve for saving jobs, businesses, social benefits,allowing people to continue with their lives once we overcome this pandemic. Read more here.
