On 26 September 2019, “Strengthening accountability, transparency, and sustainability of civil society organizations – Code of Standards for CSOs” #People2People event happened in Tirana, Albania. The event was organized by Partners Albania for Change and Development and National Resource Centre for Civil Society in Albania. Guest speakers from organizations in the Western Balkans region, as well as representatives international organizations, shared their experience at the regional and global level, on practices and mechanisms which improve civil society functioning standard. 

Creating path of a self-regulating mechanism and increasing the CSOs functioning standard and their transparency was the focus of this that brought together about 55 representatives of CSOs, international agencies and donors in Albania.

This event was the first of a various of meetings and other activities that National Resource Centre will organize in the forthcoming period aiming to contribute to the increase of accountability and transparency of civil society sector.

On the event, the BCSDN’s Executive Director, Ilina Nesikj presented the BCSDN’s Code of Conduct, discussing the importance of the CSO Accountability, for greater trust between CSOs and their constituencies.

BCSDN Code of Conduct will be the basis for consultations for National Code of Conduct in Albania.
