From 31 July to 2 August, the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) welcomed 20 research partners, including BCSDN, at the annual CIVICUS Monitor workshop, this year held in Accra, Ghana. The event gathered CSO representatives from all around the world to reflect on how the CSOs can strengthen the research collaboration through the CIVICUS Monitor and further. Anja Bosilkova Antovska, BCSDN’s Policy and Advocacy Officer on Enabling Environment for Civil Society Development was the Balkans representative on the 3- day workshop.
Through 11 different sessions and in a highly-participative athmosphere, the workshop aimed to reflect on progress made to date and identify remaining areas for development and growth and to discuss ideas and opportunities for further boosting awareness of the Monitor, as well as connecting the research with advocacy on civic space.
