On June 9th, 2019, on the Thematic Forum of CIVICA mobilitas, more than 80 representatives of the CSOs’ representatives discussed the enabling environment for the development of Macedonian civil society in 2018. The Forum emphasized that the freedom of association, assembly, and expression were legally guaranteed and mainly respected and provided in practice, the Financial Framework for the sustainability of civil society was partially improved, as well as that the key changes were made in the Profit Tax Law. Some of the recommendations that were highlighted on the Forum were related to the necessary changes in the Criminal Code; putting the current Lobbying Law out of force; as well as simplification of procedures for registration of projects exempt from VAT.
