We are proud to present you the special online edition of the Balkan Civic Practices: Promoting Civic Space – the result of months of work, together with representatives from BCSDN member organizations and partners, to demonstrate the efforts that have been done in recent years and how we have responded to the shrinking of civic space in the Western Balkans and Turkey, on one hand, and to its promotion, on another. This special BCP edition presents concrete problems and potential solutions, but also analyzes issues that have not been addressed yet and can be considered as factors threatening the civic space in the region. It aims to bring together opinions and institutional reflections from professionals, academics and activists from the network and beyond, to debate what can be done to promote civic space in the WBT countries and to inspire joint work for open civic space for citizens’ actions. All comments, ideas for collaboration and any feedback is welcomed at executiveoffice@balkancsd.net. Enjoy the read!
