The newly proposed EU Consensus on Development, is a blueprint for aligning the EU’s development policy with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It suggests an ambitious, new and collective European development policy, which addresses in an integrated manner the main orientations in the 2030 Agenda: people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership. The Confederation of European NGOs on Relief and Development (CONCORD) representing 2600 CSOs, called for the translation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development into action and will be monitoring European governments to ensure the commitments will be followed through in legally binding policies and instruments. CONCORD Europe, urged European governments to stand up for a new approach that promotes sustainable development globally as the best response to the challenges facing our continent and the world. More information on the EU Consensus is available here, while CONCORD reaction can be found here.
