Issues like enlargement fatigue, obstacles that the EU faces dealing with these countries and the obstacles the countries face in the integration process were tackled at the conference. The aim of AcadEU is to create a network of researchers, academia, practitioners, and civil society in order to: raise the awareness about the EU and its role in integration processes in Europe; increase the quality of co-operation in teaching and research on EU-related topics and wider communication of knowledge on the EU identify and bring in junior researchers into the network motivate active public involvement in debates about the relevance of the EU and integration process for the local communities.
