Third Sector Foundation of Turkey (TUSEV) launched the Balkan Civil Society Acquis: Strengthening the Potential and Capacity of CSOs for Lobbying and Advocacy Project on March 29, 2013. TUSEV’s Secretary General Tevfik Başak Ersen presented the BCSDN project and the matrix in the launch meeting. Forty participants from CSOs, public institutions and academics participated in the meeting to discuss the findings of TUSEV’s Civil Society Monitoring Report 2012 and learn about the priorities and implementation of the Monitoring Matrix on Enabling Environment for Civil Society Monitoring. Participants from CSOs showed great interest in the matrix and argued that it will be an efficient tool to track progress of the third sector. Participants were eager to learn that the matrix will be implemented in 8 different countries simultaneously and it will allow for comparisons between Western Balkan countries and Turkey.
